Summer Breakfasts

Everyday needs to start with a good breakfast. Shown here on a blue lace placemat ($6.00 each) healthy woolf bread. Of course your Vitamin C, fresh orange juice. Served in Crate and Barrel mini martini glasses.

The kids will love this hearty bread and Dad most likely will have more than one helping.

Summer Holidays

Summer is not complete until you have had a merry go round ride with your grandson.
Shopping in Carmel is so much fun! I love all the eye candy. Also in this photo is a new top hat.

Farmers Market

Saturday was a great day for the Tomball Farmers Market! First one of the year. Each 2nd Saturday of the month provides an opportunity for the regional farmers to bring their produce and sell. It starts at 8:00am and ends at noon. It was hot, but a nice breeze kept us all going. I sold my "go green bags".

Sweet Voice

This poem was sent to me by my sweet mother-in-law. It was written by her sister-in-law, a very talented lady. Thanks Mom!

Retro Cooking

What a wonderful, fresh smell of cinnamon and nutmeg filling the kitchen when a pumpkin pie is in the oven baking. Easter is perfect for a warm pumpkin pie topped with white mounds of whipped cream.

I can not resist getting out my retro aprons to serve this great dessert. Over the years I have added to my collection of aprons. My grandmother was the mentor in the family who wore these aprons. She wore them to cook in, hang clothes on the clothes line outdoors and also when picking fruit off the trees, she would just pick up the bottom on the hem and place the fruit in her apron.

Company is coming

This week end we have company coming. I wanted it to be something fresh and inviting as soon as they arrive at the front door. My first step was to get my favorite magazine, Romantic Homes out and get busy fliping pages to get some ideas.
I came up with these beautiful pink and white colors on white tea rose lace with red and pink glass to add sparkle to this little buffet table.
Do not forget the sweet desserts. Now, I am ready for the week end guests to arrive!
