What a wonderful, fresh smell of cinnamon and nutmeg filling the kitchen when a pumpkin pie is in the oven baking. Easter is perfect for a warm pumpkin pie topped with white mounds of whipped cream.
I can not resist getting out my retro aprons to serve this great dessert. Over the years I have added to my collection of aprons. My grandmother was the mentor in the family who wore these aprons. She wore them to cook in, hang clothes on the clothes line outdoors and also when picking fruit off the trees, she would just pick up the bottom on the hem and place the fruit in her apron.
